well it’s been a long time. i have been really busy of course. afghanistan, 26th MEU, ect. . . well here i am and i got inspired to write another entry. this will be simple because i have unit PT at 0515 cause my booty-boots were late yesterday. . . ./sigh. . . . so here goes my latest thoughts.

We had a class on suicide prevention today and it really sobered me up. idk why, i just always have this emotional response to issues ive had to see friends of family go through. in fact, i think that i have this strange emotional response to people’s suffering. Like when i see someone suffereing i get this strong urge to “FIX FIX FIX”. I don’t know if that’s a good thing. I have these modes i kind of go into. when i see someone suffering i go into nuture mode, when they are scared I go into protective mode, and when they are hostile i go into kill mode. I can’t stnad to see anyone in pain, and i feel that to be a curse as much as a blessing. it just seems to open me up to sabotage. I sometimes wonder what gives other people their sparks of passion. for me I love movies and music. I have this hard to express connection to them, especially music. I hear a song i love and have this collage in my head of made up scenes and frames of pictures it makes me think of. I find that strange because it just feels wierd. I always thought i wanted to work in movies because of this fact. I think that’s why i spent a lot of my early life as a wannabe actor or musician. I wanted to get close to this feeling and crteative spark that comes to lilfe with the right external stimuli. Now i have a few more things that drive me of course. I love being a marine, i love being one of the few the proud. I think most people would make fun of me for that but whatever. they all try to say: “marine corps aint all its cracked up to be eh?” well it is what you make it. mind you this comes from people who have never had a full time job int heir fucking life! so they really have no idea how life opperates yet. So you know what? i embrace the suck! i am unbreakable! that’s why i love this so much. I do hate what i miss thought, my family. times in my sons life that will never come again. of course i miss my home town with my people. as much as i wanna go back to Orlando and stay there i want to experience other cities. I love NYC and DC and even LA wasnt so bad. I guess ill see where life takes me. well there are my disjointed rambling for today. hey check it out first one with no politics. . . FUCK YOU TEA PARTY and MOTHERS OF AMERICA!. . . well there goes that!

it’s the truth and people my age should pay attention to the actualy facts more than just going along with what they are told. in my studying of political science i have come to understand things more and I do believe that the way most of our nation’s youth are acting is idiotic some don’t even know what they are talking about(and when proven wrong they jst say “you don’t know what your talking abotu you idiot”) it saddens me. When are we going to think away from parties and start putting country above greed and selfishness. President Obama has the potential to do great, if he can stop putting his vengful over-aggressive party first and starts thinking along the lines of america and not a socialist america but a good old fashioned capitalist-republic that is the United States of America. I pray he doesn’t try to rewrite the constitution like he has hinted at, that would be a break of the presidential oath, and i believe would be treason. All my brothers and sisters remember your oath

Obama’s Top Five Broken Promises

Promise #5: Sunlight Before Signing

What he said:

“Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.” (BarackObama.com campaign Web site)

What he did:

Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter bill, the SCHIP/cigarette tax hike, and the stimulus bill all with far less than a five-day waiting period that he promised–and continues to promise–on his campaign Web site.

Promise #4: Lobbyist Revolving Door

What he said:

“No political appointees in an Obama-Biden administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years. And no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration.” (BarackObama.com campaign Web site)

What he did:

Obama appointed Goldman Sachs lobbyists Mark Patterson chief of staff at the Treasury Department, where he directly oversees his former employer, a recipient of $10 billion of taxpayer funds from the TARP. Obama also appointed Raytheon lobbyist William Lynn to be an undersecretary of Defense.

Promise #3: No Tax Hikes on the Poor

What he said first:

“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.” (September 12, 2008, Dover, N.H.)

What he did first:

By signing H.R. 2 into law, Obama happily signed onto the idea that smokers should pay for a $35 billion expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP). Cigarette taxes are going up 61 cents a pack starting April 1. Obama signed this bill knowing that the majority of smokers in the United States are working poor, and one in four lives below the federal poverty line.

What he said next:

“If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime.” (February 24th, 2009, Address to a Joint Session of Congress)

What he did next:

Ignored the already-hiked cigarette tax at the time of the statement and then this restated promise was broken just two days later, when the Obama’s budget proposal was released. His new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured.

Promise #2: Pork Barrel Earmark Reform

What he said:

“The system is broken. We can no longer accept a process that doles out earmarks based on a member of Congress’ seniority, rather than the merit of the project. We can no longer accept an earmarks process that has become so complicated to navigate that a municipality or non-profit group has to hire high-priced D.C. lobbyists to do it. And we can no longer accept an earmarks process in which many of the projects being funded fail to address the real needs of our country.”

What he is expected to do:

The White House has signaled that it intends to sign the $410 billion Omnibus Appropriations bill, which according to Taxpayers for Common Sense, contains 8,570 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion, including dozens of wasteful pork-barrel projects. These earmarks were awarded based on seniority, not on merit, and were mostly the result of high-priced lobbying, precisely the process that Obama promised to end. When the omnibus reaches his desk later this week or next week, we’ll find out if this is one more broken promise.

Promise #1: Big Government

OK, so this one is more of a statement than a promise, but it’s the biggest whopper of all.

What he said:

“Not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t.” (February 24, 2009, Joint Address to Congress)

What he did:

Obama proposed a budget that is breathtaking in scope, a blueprint for the biggest permanent expansion of government in history right on the heels of a sweeping trillion dollar stimulus plan. The budget lays the foundation for a government takeover of the health care and energy sectors and dramatically increasing spending across the board, other than defense weapons programs. Spending as a percentage of the economy under this budget will reach the historic level of 27.7 percent this year. The deficit as a percent of the economy, at 12.3 percent, is set to be the biggest in the entire history of the country outside of the four peak years of World War II. Anyone who offers such a budget can only fairly be described as a believer in bigger government.

An old friend of mine brought an article to my attention. Michele Obama was at a nearby Washington, DC school lecturing to highschoolers and 5th graders (citation at the end) on what it takes to be a citizen of America and her husband’s policies. one quote that stuck out in my head is:

“”It’s not the money you make or the degree that you have but it’s the choice that you make to be active and involved and a responsible citizen, and no president can mandate that, no mayor can mandate that. It comes from us, our faith, our belief in one another. It’s not just what I need and who is going to give it to me, but what can I do? What kind of citizen am I going to be? What kind of parent am I going to be? What kind of neighbor am I going to be? And what am I going to do the next time a crime is committed? Am I going to walk by? Do I call the police? Do I get involved? That is all part of the conversation we need to have as a society.”

This quote is truth and should be taken to heart, this is the motto i have always lived my life by. The only stipulation is who the words come from, they come from Michele Obama. The same woman whose family defended a Black Panther riot in Washington, DC. What the hell would the American community have thought if Bush or McCain had defended the KKK. Another is the fact that she has said on numerous occasion racist comments about Caucasians. So this is another question on whether Michele Obama is being earnestor if she is what appears to be, a woman hiding behind empty words she knows not he meaning to and the most powerful organization in the United States of America. Personally i believe she is full of hot air, knows nothing of faith in others or tolerance and I wish Americawould look at the fact rather than just go with what they read. When i look at political issues i check the liberal and conservative media and check with neutral sources of educated people i know. So why is this woman talking about faith and being hailed as brilliant, when she is really a racist bag of hot air. It is comparable to the question “how many lick does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop?”… the world may never know. Or if you wanna be an accurate non metaphorical jack ass 3!

the fountain…of…um….cool-aid!

So i’m bored, and i’m drunk. And!…no one reads my blog when i don’t post. so i am once again doting on the movies “the fountain”. When we first watched that amanda said to me, “don’t ever make me watch that shit again!”. which is okay, alot of people don’t like it. But i love that movie. It has the metaphoric, amazing, meaning to it! The man is obsessed, with curing the love of his life, because without her he is nothing. But in the end he realizez his obsession cost him time with the one thing that matters to him! In the end he realizez that he missed out on the things that mattered, it really makes you not take life fore granted. sure the portrayal is a little strange, but the message has meaning and depth unlike most movies now a days. Also, all you classical fans can agree, who puts together a better score than clint mansell. He did requiem for a dream, definitly maybe, the fountain and he was a frontman for some british band. He is one of my fav composers, him steve jabolnsky, trevor rabin and tyler bates(hes a freakin given with 300!). If you do not know clint mansell, please, download Lux Aeterna and Death is the road to awe and Together we will live forever, off of Itunes. I almost forgot to mention my love for Hans Zimmer of course, which is pirates of the carribean and dark knight man! thinking bout stuff…

Well I’m doing quite well for myself here on WordPress.com! I have had 8 views total on my blog, the most on “Osama what are you doing in my backyard silly?”. I suppose it’s safe to say one of the following alternatives, A.) You people love my politics!, B.) You people hate my politics! or, C.) the amandas just looked at my blog 4 times each; it’s probably C damnit! Anyways, I was just thinking so i thought i would talk to you people. I sometimes just get so many thoughts in my mind. One recently was the fighting in lakeland over the rebel flag! A man flies a rebel flag(flag of the confederacy) about 10Ft high and the flag itself is normal flag size(storm flag as it’s known). A lot of people in the area want it taken down saying it displays racism. They say it symbolises the south in the civil war conflict in the 1860′s. They say that was about racists wanting slavery and non racists not. But i believe i remember differently, the civil war was fought over racism yes, but the main reason it started was the south’s ambition to be self sustaining and not to be bullied by the north who, at the time, had all the factories ect… Slavery was there, but it was a minor reason. So this flag actually symbolises the ambition of Independence, the symbol of not taking crap. I am in no way one of those “the south shall rise again people”, but i do think that the flag symbolizes more than racism. That the south meant more than slavery. So in response to these complaints, this is America, we are a free country, so leave them be… if they put up a flag that says “pick my cotton negro” then i would say that is way to far and beat the hell out of them! so lets see what kind of feedback i can get shall we? So i read in the news today that Barack Obama is making his first mistake. He is closing our detention center at Guantanamo bay and moving the terrorist detainees stateside. I can sum my reaction up in three words…WHAT…THE…HELL? Does he really think that moving a large amount of terrorists INTO the country is a good idea when we are trying to keep them OUT of it? that has fail spelled all over it. I understand that he wants to ban torture and i don’t disagree we don’t want to be animals. But i also say, if we need to save thousands of American lives and the only wy to get it is to cut up a terrorist good to make him talk, should we not because it violates his human rights? The TV show 24 sheds some light on the subject the way i think. No we should not be mistreating people for no reason, but sometimes brutal methods of interrogation are needed because, believe it or not, terrorists don’t care about our human rights and they will do worse to us if we don’t stop them. Now I think that randomly torturing people for fun is a bad thing, but closing Guantanamo bay is a bad idea. One swift move and those detainees could be loose in NC, CO, CA, and NM. That is not GOOD! President Obama i beg you to think tactically about the situation, this is a bad course of thought that could lead to the worst outcome, releasing them all to go back to their country. I swear if the obama administration does that i will ridicule them until someone has to shoot me because that would be the worse thing ever. I with my limited military training see the benefits of an out of country detention facility. Why don’t non military people even think about this? Do you think if we say “peace” and don’t attack anyone ever again the world will love us, HELL NO! It’s about protecting our country, at all costs, I will do this as much as i can. I love this country, I won’t call Obama names and ridicule him like the democrats did to bush. I don’t believe that is right. I’m a countryman and i will always support my president until he gives me a reason not to. For me releasing our detainees, or making it easier for them to submerge in the American populace would be that exact thing. So i beg the democratic, narrow-minded law makers in Washington. Put aside your snide hatred for the republican party. Is being in control worth the loss of American lives? Put aside your party and don’t be anything accept an American, think smart and do what is best for the country no matter what it is. So our country may survive these hard times.

this is an excerpt from a blog i stumbled across from Doctor Robyn Silverman, I decided i would answer these questions myself

(1) First, jot down where you are watching the event. Are you there in Washington DC? Watching at home? Watching with friends and family? Who’s there and what did you plan for this day?

(2) How did you feel when you heard the swearing in ceremony? Were you touched and moved? What thoughts ran through your mind about the state of our country or how your children and family will be impacted by this man and the decisions he will make with his team?

(3) What struck you about Obama’s address? Any quotes or messages that stick out in your mind? Anything you wished he would have said but didn’t? Anything he said that surprised you?

(1) I’m…um..Not Watching it.

(2) I did not watch but i felt uneasy and woried; I think that his decision making still has time to mature and change but if he continues the course he has championed we will be in trouble

(3) nothing struck, as in all his speeches i believe he fluffs his words and relies on fancy speech to rally the masses

(4) 4 years- probably more economic problems and a decline in healthcare; 8 years- If he is still in office in eight years hopefully he has done something right; 20 years- hopefully hes not still in office if so it means hes become emporer of the world and the apocalypse is nigh…just kidding…sort of…i believe what he does will shape our future, if he turns out to be a good president it will be a profound enlightenment on the world, but sadly, if he makes bad decisions and judgements it can have a terrible effect on not only our country but the future of african american’s in office, i pray that doenst get effected negatively by his presidency; if his lack of security hasnt already destroyed our great nation.

(5) I will tell my kids the truth, it was a sham, a man with no eperience championed into this slot by over publicisation and celebrity promotion

(6) none of his words are powerful, the only thing powerful about him is his ability to gain acclaim from celebrities and make amockery of our election process by turning it into the mv music awards…

20 January 2009, this date holds many historic meanings in our country. To me this date means truth, the day we will find the future of our country. This day Barack Obama will stand in front of the nation, and he will take an oath to faithfully execute the office of the president of the united states of america. He will promise to uphold the integrity of america and the constitution of the united states of america. ver batum he will

”solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

From my understanding this is either a hit or miss situation. President Obama has himself, said that the united states constitution is “out of date”. So can we believe that he will uphold his oath of office or turn us into euro-merica? He has definitly changed a few of his viewpoints since his top secret meetings with the joint cheifs. Does this mean that president elect Obama will change his stance on the issues and continue the course of action america has taken? Also how will his fans or Obama-nites as i call them, react to his change in issues? Only the day of reckoning will tell, it will be many months until his decisions will affect our great country but all of us need to be ready to take action if the wrong decisions are made. I personally pray that President-Elect Obama has the sound sense of mind to realize that being televised and promoted to young people is not all that is needed to lead our country. I have been outspoken about how Barack Obama has no experience and does not have the military strategy to manage a country in two wars and economic recession. I hope President-Elect Obama proves me wrong. I hope Mr. Obama becomes a brilliant, Wise and honorable leader. I pray for the sake of our countries Demographic diversity that the New president becomes a light and a milestone to be remembered forever, Only time will tell. I mself have also taken an oath, I swore to…

I swore that oath on 17 July 2007, and i will uphold that oath even after my service is over, and no matter who offends the constitution, I will make sure they are brought to justice; and to whomever tries to bring pain upon my nation and masscre upon her citizens…i will make sure they face justice before court or before god. I pray that Mr. Obama does the same, I pray he makes me proud to call him my president and i will follow his orders until he gives me a reason to not…so help me god!

I finally got a REAL blog and forgot about myspace, if i wasn’t connected to so many people on there i would say SCREW YOU TOM! and get rid of it. but here is the beautiful new blog i will be using for all my writing and getting more creative and delving more into the issues.
